How to Archive Your Twitter Data

Many people are reevaluating Twitter.

If you’re one of them, ask yourself these questions:

Is Twitter where your audience is? Are you able to commit to building a meaningful presence there and engaging often? Do you agree with the new terms of service?

Maybe you want to take a Twitter break.
Maybe you want to curate and reposition your Twitter presence.
Maybe you want a total do-over.

Before you do any of these, archive your Twitter account data first.

To learn how to download your Twitter data , GO HERE.

You’ll receive an email alert when the download becomes available, which may take a few days.

If you want to say farewell or perhaps take a break, GO HERE to deactivate your account for up to 30 days.

Note, that’s a hard 30-day deadline after which your account is deleted, so be sure to read about how it works. And, download your Twitter data archive first.

Whether you’re ramping up, dialing down, reinventing, or curating your Twitter presence, remember these 3 rules of engagement:

  1. Share what you care about.

  2. Use 3 or less hashtags.

  3. Stay positive, helpful, and genuine. (The world needs more of all that.)
